The observance, September 15 - October 15, recognizes the contributions made to and the important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans in the United States and celebrates their heritage and culture. About one-third of all Catholics in the United States are Latinos. Hispanics make up more than HALF of the Catholic population in the Archdiocese of New York and over 60% of St. Helena's parishioners. They have a profound and positive influence on our country through their strong commitment to family, faith, hard work, and service.
