MARY OLDEN DIES AT AGE 98

Mary Olden (age 98) , who lived most of her life in Parkchester and was a receptionist for 43 years with Con Edison, died peacefully in a nursing home in Melbourne, Florida. She was born in Cork County, Ireland during World War I and was the last surviving member of a family of six children. She was a long-time member of St. Helena’s Parish, and she enjoyed sitting on a bench in front of her Parkchester apartment, and that bench now has a small plaque on it inscribed with her name and the names of the other residents who frequented it.
