St. Helena's sponsors Boy Scout Troop 65, which was founded in 1951. The scouts meet every Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
We also sponsor Cub Scout Pack 65, which meets every Thursday.

Pennies for the Pantry: St. Helena Boy Scout Troop 65 is sponsoring Pennies for the Pantry after the Masses on Sunday, December 10. Scouts will be at the back of the church collecting all your loose change. The proceeds will be used to buy food for needy parishioners during the Christmas season.
Eagle Court Of Honor
For the presentation of the Eagle Scout Medal to Donald Hartnett and LaVar Thomas Hinkson on Saturday, September 23 at 6:30PM at St. Helena Catholic Church. A reception will follow in the cafeteria.
St. Helena Boy Scout Troop 65 received a community service award at the 4th Annual Bronx Community Board Nine Recognition Awards Dinner, which took place on Friday, September 8 at the YMCA on Castle Hill Drive.
90th Anniversary of Ten Mile River Scout Camp at Keowa, some scouts from St. Helena Troop 65 attended this special anniversary summer camp.
Papal Nuncio addresses Scouts at National Jamboree: "The Holy Father is asking you, the Scouts, to be vigilant -- to look out for your brothers and sisters and to be patient," said Archbishop Christophe Pierre, the papal nuncio to the United States, in his homily during a Mass July 23 at the Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree. "The important thing is to persevere, to not give up in your mission and to not give up on others, hoping that they might have new life." Archbishop Pierre ended his speech with the Scout Prayer, a prayer for generosity.
St. Helena's Boy Scout Troop 65 participated in the 43rd Precinct National Night Out on August 1 at the Metropolitan Oval in Parkchester.

Boy Scout Donald Hartnett's Eagle Scout Project was to build a Shrine to St. Anne, which is located at the intersection of Westchester Ave. and Olmstead Ave.
EAGLE SCOUT BOOK DRIVE
An Eagle Scout candidate, Levar Hinkson (center), from St. Helena Boy Scout Troop 65 conducted a BOOK DRIVE. The children’s books were distributed by the scouts to children at the KWANZAA celebration which took place in the gym on Friday, December 30. The adult books were brought by the scouts to two facilities run by Catholic Charities here in the Bronx which offer residential, assisted living, and senior day care programs.
St. Helena Boy Scout Troop 65 attended the monthly 43rd Precinct Community Council Meeting as one of the requirements in earning the Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge.

St. Helena's Boy Scout Troop 65 won the Best Sled award at the 2016 Klondike Derby, held at Camp Alpine. Congratulations to the team.
Every year, the Boy Scout troop enjoys summer camp, as they did here at Camp Keowa in 2014.
